Translation activities are diverse. However, when training interpreters, this is sometimes forgotten, focusing on sight translation. So far, we have almost no works devoted to the issues of methodology of teaching interpreting by ear. It is true that some attempts to introduce special exercises and types of work into the teaching process, to make wider use of the language laboratory, which has so far been the object of attention only of phoneticians, have taken place in some universities of our country. However, new interesting exercises have not become the property of wide teaching circles, have not been scientifically substantiated and systematized. At the same time, the need to systematize the already accumulated experience is becoming more and more obvious. The present work is devoted to solving this problem, and it seemed to us expedient to systematize and justify both known and new types of training work and related methodological techniques on the basis of the study of the peculiarities of interpreting by ear.
