This collection of articles is a continuation of the “Translator's Notebook” published by the Translation Department of the 1st Moscow State Institute of Translation from 1958 to 1962, and aims to reflect the living “creative laboratory” of translation thought, to provide an opportunity for raising and discussing topical issues of everyday translation practice, for methodological and practical advice, critical remarks, discussion statements on various translation issues, and, finally, for translation experiments and proposals on various variants of translating this or that text. In this connection, the materials published in this collection are by no means intended to be considered complete studies; they are rather notes, sketches on some topical and interesting issues of translation theory and practice.
