The USSR and Latin America. 1917–1967

    This book is the first to summarize the relations between the Soviet Union and the countries of a vast area of the world - Latin America. For 50 years of Soviet power, these relations have traveled a long and complex path. The book consists of four chapters. The first of them covers the issue of the direct impact of the Great October Revolution on the revolutionary upsurge in Latin America. On vivid examples shows the fervent solidarity of Latin American workers with the struggle of Soviet Russia against internal reaction and foreign intervention. 1924 - the beginning of interstate relations between the USSR and Latin America: the first of Latin American countries established diplomatic relations with the Soviet Union Mexico. The second chapter of the book is devoted to the history of diplomatic, economic and cultural relations between the USSR and Latin America during the years of Soviet power. Analysis of the development and strengthening of friendly relations between the USSR and the first socialist country of the Western Hemisphere - Cuba is given in the third chapter.

    The results of the development of Soviet Latin American studies as a science are summarized in the final part of the book. The book is prefaced by an introductory article that discusses the current state and trends in the development of relations between the Soviet Union and the countries of Latin America.
