    In the proposed book tells about the internal political situation and foreign policy of Norway on the eve and in the early period of World War II, the history of the preparation of Hitler's aggression against this small northern country, analyze the plans of the Western powers in relation to Norway. On concrete facts shows how and why Hitler's Germany was able to realize its brigand plans, reveals the reasons for the doomed neutrality of Norway in those conditions. The book contains new data not previously known to Soviet readers, characterizing the situation in Europe during the "strange war" and convincingly testifying to the consistent struggle of the Soviet Union against fascist aggression, for the consolidation of peace and security in the North of Europe, in defense of national sovereignty and independence of the Scandinavian countries.
