The handbook gives a brief description of the legal basis of the international organisations in force as of 1 January 1980 in the field of political, economic and scientific-technical cooperation between socialist states - the Warsaw Pact Organisation, the Council for Mutual Economic Assistance, credit and financial organisations, industrial and branch organisations, as well as in the field of transport, communications, science and technology. Information on associations and joint ventures of economic organisations of socialist countries is also given.
