The second edition of the book by the late Professor S.B. Krylov is a fundamental and, one might say, unique work on the history of the creation of the United Nations.

The author wrote this study not only on the basis of documents, which can never convey everything that happened at these or those international conferences. S.B. Krylov participated from beginning to end in the preparatory international meetings and at the conference in San Francisco on the elaboration of the UN Charter. All his work bears the imprint of that deep and detailed knowledge of issues that only an observant negotiator can possess.

The story of the creation of the United Nations is a story of cooperation between the states of the two systems, so different from the Cold War concepts propagated by the politicians and strategists of the imperialist powers.
