All the most important events of inter-American relations over a twenty-year period from 1939 to 1959 are widely covered in the book, it reveals the reasons for the collapse of pro-American dictatorships in Cuba, Venezuela, Colombia and other countries. The author shows the continuous growth of the great liberation movement of 190 million Latin Americans and the victory of the popular revolution in Cuba.

The book examines the growing role of Latin America in international relations, its pressing problems and the strengthening of friendly ties between the peoples of the Soviet Union and Latin America.
