   The monograph examines the main problems of the history of Romania on the eve and during the Second World War. The author shows the strengthening of reactionary tendencies in the policy of the ruling Romanian circles, analyzes the reasons for the establishment of the fascist dictatorship of General Antonescu in the country. A significant place in the book is given to Romania's participation in the anti-Soviet war, the struggle of the CPR against the policy of national betrayal of the ruling circles, the preparation and conduct of the anti-fascist uprising of August 23, 1944 and the further withdrawal and participation of the people's democratic Romania in the war against Germany and its satellites.
