The book shows the history of the development of the political struggle in Cuba between 1939 and 1952, when the forces that a few years later realized the popular revolution were already maturing. The revolution, which grew out of Cuba's internal conditions, was growing, but was temporarily delayed by the establishment of the bloody Batista dictatorship in 1952. The terror of the internal reality, backed by the US imperialists, only helped the country's ruling classes to hold on for a few more years, but could not stop the revolutionary movement from growing.
