The book by Y. Y. Mikheev, candidate of legal sciences, consistently traces the main directions of American policy in Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia, forms and methods of American activities in these countries after World War II. On the basis of extensive facts, the author reveals the illegal, contrary to universally recognized norms and principles of international law nature of U.S. activities in Indochina. Based on recent publications, the author gives a new insight into a number of moments in the development of American policy in Indochina and its connection with the general post-war foreign policy of the United States. A significant place in the book is given to such issues little covered in the Soviet literature as the work of the 1961-1962 Geneva meeting on Laos, the economic methods of U.S. subjugation of Indochinese countries, the social support of U.S. imperialism in Indochina, and others.
