This collection is an aid for developing oral skills and is intended for people learning German on their own or on courses (at an advanced stage of learning), It can also be recommended to university students for extracurricular work. The collection contains original stories, feuilletons and novel excerpts from progressive German writers of the 20th century, as well as texts from GDR periodicals. Some of the texts have been abridged. Each text is accompanied by exercises aimed at organizing students' work to develop their oral speech skills on specific textual and linguistic material. This is also facilitated by the factual nature of most of the texts. In addition to the texts and exercises, the collection contains a commentary and a German-Russian dictionary.
