The author of the memoirs is a prominent Soviet military commander. He travelled a long and glorious path in battles, became a Hero of the Soviet Union, Marshal of Aviation. In the Battle of Moscow S.I. Rudenko commanded an aviation division, and in the battles of Stalingrad and Kursk Bulge, in the Byelorussian, Vistula-Oder and Berlin operations - the air army. In his book, he writes about the intense battles, the heroism of pilots, the skill of aviation commanders.
