Since 1995 the author – a member of the New York Foreign Press Association – has been actively published in the main Russian-American periodicals, which include: New Russian Word, Panorama, Forverts, V Novom Svete. Zaslavsky's cooperation with writer Georgy Veiner when Georgy was editor in chief of New Russian Word helped launch his journalistic career. The book contains an array of factual statements and reflects the journalistic impressions of the many prisms of American reality.

It is aimed at readers who are interested in current issues in the US, American lifestyle and the views of eminent people living in or visiting America.
