The monograph, based on new materials, examines the most important trends in modern American philosophy, examines its connection and interaction with ideology, and reveals the deep crisis of US philosophy. It is shown how empirical methods of some US philosophical schools are used to develop methods of influencing public opinion. Of great interest is a critical analysis of such new trends in American philosophy as existentialism and neo-Thomism, which are finding a “second home” in the USA. Considerable attention is also paid to showing the struggle of the progressive forces of the United States against reactionary philosophy and ideology.
