Esperanto, an auxiliary language designed for the purpose of communication between speakers of different languages, was created more than seventy years ago by Dr. L. Zamenhof. This edition is not a textbook of Esperanto, but only an outline of its basics. Grammatical and word formation rules are illustrated with numerous examples. The book also includes samples of prose, poetry and political literature in Esperanto, as well as two dictionaries, the principles of construction of which are explained in the text.
