Foreign trade correspondence and documentation : study guide

   This publication is a special textbook on the Russian language for foreign students specializing in the field of international economic relations of the countries of the socialist camp. It can also provide assistance to persons independently studying the Russian language abroad. Thus, the publication is designed for a wide readership. The purpose of the manual is to familiarize students with economic and foreign trade terminology, the procedure for drawing up foreign trade documents in Russian, and to instill in students practical skills in translating foreign trade documents. The methodology underlying the manual was developed in the process of teaching foreign students. It allows you to practically master economic and foreign trade terminology and master the basic rules and techniques of foreign trade operations in a relatively short time, with knowledge of only the basics of the Russian language. The manual consists of 28 lessons devoted to various types of foreign trade correspondence, preparation and drafting of a contract, as well as correspondence related to its implementation. Each lesson, in addition to the main text, also contains a number of tasks that allow you to consolidate the material learned. Taking into account the nature of the audience, exercises are provided to develop Russian colloquial speech. The “Appendices” section contains reference material about the All-Union Chamber of Commerce, all-Union export-import associations of the USSR and foreign trade organizations of people's democracies, agreements on trade and navigation, sample contracts and some shipping and payment documents.
