More than forty years separate us from the publication of L.B. Krasin's book “Issues of Foreign Trade”, which, on the basis of Lenin's teachings, deeply and comprehensively outlined the theoretical and organizational foundations of Soviet foreign trade as the most important factor in the peaceful coexistence of the world's first socialist state with countries belonging to other socio-economic systems, summarized the initial experience of the implementation of the state monopoly of foreign trade of the young Soviet Republic. The works of L.B. Krasin published in the book “Issues of Foreign Trade” were written during the period of formation and consolidation of Soviet power - during the years of civil war and intervention, restoration and development of the national economy, but many of the provisions expressed by Krasin have retained their significance to the present time.
