USSR and developing countries in the UN

The United Nations was established primarily as a political international organization to promote peace and ensure the security of peoples. However, in the last 10-15 years, the UN has been faced with the inherent tasks of promoting the economic progress of developing countries, which, due to the fault of colonizers and neo-colonizers, are experiencing great difficulties on the path of independent economic development. In the UN itself there is a sharp struggle between the forces of imperialism and the forces of socialism not only on topical political issues, but also on the expansion of technical assistance to developing countries, improvement of international economic relations, normalization of international trade and so on. The author shows the main directions of economic activities of the United Nations and its specialized agencies and regional economic commissions, the role of the Soviet Union in the development and practical implementation of the principles of technical assistance and the development of international economic cooperation.
