The book analyzes the position of broad layers of the French public in relation to the Soviet Union. The authors show the important role of the French Communist Party, democratic forces of the country in the development of French-Soviet cooperation. The stratification within the French bourgeoisie on the question of attitude to the USSR is analyzed. An attempt is made to reveal the influence of economic interests of various monopolistic groups, their connections and inter-imperialist contradictions on the approach to the problem of cooperation between France and the USSR. The book emphasizes the importance of friendly relations between the two great powers for the consolidation of peace in Europe and international security.
