The book exposes bourgeois theories about the so-called "internal evolution" of socialism, that socialism as a social order is supposedly "decaying from within". The author reveals the invalidity of Western theorists' claims about the split of the socialist camp, about the growth of religious sentiments among the population of socialist countries, about the nihilism of young people, etc. At the same time, the author shows how imperialism, relying on its domestic policy and other so-called "peaceful means" of political pressure, tries to subtly interfere in the complex internal processes taking place in the socialist countries, to use them in its own interests. A great deal of attention is paid to a question not sufficiently developed in Soviet literature - the anti-communist interpretation of the development of interstate relations of socialist countries.
