The main purpose of this manual is to contribute to the development of oral skills. The collection 'Zum Sprechen und Lachen' can be used both by independent learners of German and for classroom and extracurricular work under the guidance of a teacher, as well as for light reading. The collection includes short humorous stories and anecdotes that can be used to develop the skill of listening comprehension of foreign speech and to convey a listening or reading text. A large number of small humorous stories makes it possible to offer each listener of the group different texts for retelling during classroom work. This greatly increases the interest of the other students listening to a new for them fabula, and causes involuntary attention. When arranging the material, we were guided mainly by the content of the texts. Thus, in separate groups there are anecdotes about doctors, writers, composers and music, about artists, theater and cinema, about artists and painting, anecdotes about children, household anecdotes (family and family relations), etc. The texts of the collection ridicule stupidity, avarice, drunkenness, rudeness, selfishness, superstition, subservience, cowardice, bureaucracy, bourgeoisie and other vices. The texts of the collection are taken mainly from German books and newspapers and adapted to the most common vocabulary.
