About the author

The author of the book, an international journalist, worked for a number of years as a TASS correspondent in the FRG. He witnessed the changes in that country that led to the victory of the realist course of the Brandt government. The book reflects a variety of aspects of these changes, and in particular the change in the attitude of West Germans to the Soviet country.
