The paper critically examines the process of development of foreign policy of the bourgeois state on the basis of historical argumentation, analysis of the modern situation, planning and forecasting in the conditions of development of scientific and technological revolution. The essence and forms of theoretical and methodological reorientation of bourgeois political science, its adaptation to modern requirements are analyzed. On the basis of recent foreign publications, the latest research apparatus of bourgeois social science is studied in detail, in which traditional methods are combined with methods based on the use of computers, quantitative analysis, and various modeling techniques. On separate concrete examples the author shows the true limits and possibilities of development of scientific policy in the bourgeois state. The problems of ideological struggle in social sciences on new directions in the conditions of peaceful coexistence are investigated; the position of Marxist scientists is opposed to bourgeois theories and concepts.
