Churchill's political biography was published for the first time in 1968. The life and work of Churchill, a militant imperialist, apostle of anti-communism, and ideologist of the Cold War, are shown in close connection with the domestic and foreign political life of England, as well as with the most important events that took place on the world stage. Since the first edition was published, numerous publications of archival documents, extensive literature on the history of international relations of the 20th century, memoirs and diaries of Churchill's contemporaries have appeared. These new documents and materials have been taken into account and used by the author in the preparation of the third edition.
