The work by Prof. Y.V.Borisov explores the main stages of political, economic and cultural relations between the USSR and France and shows their development over 60 years. The author tells about the struggle of the FCPF and other democratic forces of the country, progressive public organisations for friendly relations and mutually beneficial cooperation with the USSR. Special attention is paid to the positive results for both countries of the détente process in international relations in the 60s and 70s, as well as the peculiarities of relations between the USSR and France in the 80s.
