This book is devoted to the history of the Order of the Knights of Malta, its relations with Russia, which particularly actively developed in the second half of the seventeenth century - beginning of the nineteenth century. Referring to striking but little known pages of Russian foreign policy of Empress Catherine II and Paul I, the author uses a wide range of national and foreign literature sources, including materials of archive of Russian foreign policy.
