This publication is the first attempt to generalize the history of all Soviet and Russian banks located abroad starting from 1917 and spanning a period of almost 100 years. The first volume of the book is about banks, their departments and representative offices in Asia and North and South America. The second volume covers those located in Europe.
The narrative has been based on archived documents, including those that have never been published by other researchers, and on the candid stories of leading employees of Soviet and Russian banks abroad. Employees who represented the domestic banking system in London, Paris, Zurich, Vienna, Frankfurt-am-Mein, Singapore, Beirut, Luxembourg, Tehran, Shang Hai and other cities in different parts of the world.
