This book encompasses both the theoretical aspects of legitimate authority (from the very beginnings to contemporary academic concepts), and the practice of legitimizing regimes across the world, especially in Russia, with a more detailed analysis of the period of Russia’s most recent history. The author’s demonstrate particular know-how in implementing methods of mathematic modelling that help track the correspondence of the level of state support with specific factors in public life. The proposed instruments allow us to, much like a seismograph, determine the basic tectonic plates of the regime, dangerous faults, and possibly, to foretell any upcoming eruptions or cataclysms in the national political system. The book is aimed at a wide circle of readers: from established academics, politologists, postgraduates and undergraduates researching the intricacies of power and the mechanisms that maintain it, to representatives of so-called practical politics i.e. people in power, state actors, state and social functionaries, political strategists and others. We leave our esteemed readers the right to define the boundaries of the circle of readers for themselves.
