The collection is intended for work with students at language universities and foreign language faculties, translation courses, English language study circles, as well as for professional development of teachers. As the English title of the collection suggests, the manual has a purely practical orientation. It is not a systematic course for developing interpreting skills, but only contains dialogic, textual material on topical issues that has a natural sounding enough to be used for developing interpreting skills. In addition, the author hopes that by studying the manual, students will be able to expand their vocabulary on a range of topics they will encounter in their future interpreting practice. It can also be used as a guide for developing oral skills at different stages of language teaching, depending on the methodology and purpose, starting from about the third year of study.
