The edition includes 2 books by Karl Jaspers. The first book, “Where does the Federal Republic go?” - was published in 1966. Its appearance was a sensation in the political life of the Federal Republic of Germany. And this is not surprising: an 85-year-old philosopher of international renown, a man whom Chancellor Adenauer himself considered his own, suddenly came out sharply against the policy of the successors of the first Chancellor of the Federal Republic of Germany. His second book, “A Response to Criticism of my book Where is the Federal Republic Going?” - was published in 1967. In it the author not only answers his critics, and above all those on the right who express the interests of official Bonn, but goes even further in his criticisms and assessments contained in the first book. The edition is translated with abridgments and an introductory article by V.S. Shumsky, Candidate of Historical Sciences.
