Private International Law: textbook 6th ed., revised. and add.

    This textbook in itself is a full course on private international law with an analysis of legislation in the Russian Federation, international law, international agreements and the regulations of non-governmental law.

    The textbook is made up of a general section and a special section. Some of the chapters in the special section are new and the questions they examine have not yet received enough attention in other Russian textbooks and study guides published until now (the legal regime regarding the cross-border transmission of personal data, the regulation of securities through collusion, the legal regime for offshore companies and trusts, and other types of obligations: international contract agreements, services agreements corporate agreements and secured transactions). It reflects provisions from the Civil Code of the Russian Federation, and federal laws regulating cross-border relations: on controlled foreign companies (2014), on the jurisdictional immunities of foreign states and their property (2015), on arbitration (arbitration proceedings) in Russia (2015), on the localization of personal data on the territory of Russia (2015), on international companies and international funds (2018), on the activities of foreign nationals on the Internet on the territory of the RF (2021), on regulating corporate relations in economically significant organizations (2023), and other laws with amendments made to these acts as of October 2025.

    The author has analyzed the practices of Russian and international state courts and arbitration institutions on implementing the provisions of private international law, which have also been reflected in the resolution № 24 of the Plenum of the Supreme Court of the RF On the application of private international law by the courts of the Russian Federation, adopted on 09.07.2019. There is a wide range of examples on settling disputes by international commercial arbitration (the YUKOS case against the Russian Federation and others), and also the practice of state courts of the RF considering disputes involving foreign persons, inter alia those created after the start of the special military operation (SMO or spetsoperatsiya), including the practice of applying articles 248.1 and 248.2 Commercial Procedural Code of the Russian Federation (APK RF) on the exclusive jurisdiction of RF arbitration courts. The textbook also addresses deoffshorization and the regulation of offshore companies and trusts, which is taking place in Russian and global policy.

    Particular attention is paid to describing unilateral coercive measures (sanctions) adopted by unfriendly countries against Russian legal persons, natural persons and the Russian state from 2014–2025, and also response measures (contra-sanctions) adopted by the Russian authorities against unfriendly countries and foreign persons from those countries (Presidential Decrees RF № 79, 81, 96, 126, 302, 416, 442, 520, 618, 844 etc.).
