Longevity the Japanese way: how to live for a long time and enjoy the process

Japanese people’s longevity is based on three factors: living in harmony with nature and society, freedom from unnecessary stresses and worries, and a healthy and proper diet. The secrets of how Japanese people use these three factors on a daily basis to prolong their existence, and why they are better at doing so that many other nations are revealed in this book.
It is a known fact that the Japanese rank number one in the world when it comes to average life expectancy; 85 years. January 2019 marked the death of 113-year-old Masadzo Nonaka – the oldest man in the world. In March 2019 Kane Tanaka, the oldest woman on the planet was registered on the Guiness World Records site at 116 years and 66 days. She gained her title after the death of Tie Miako, who died in July 2018 aged 117.
The authors closely examined the particularities of the Japanese diet. They found that the Japanese use little milk and dairy products and eat many vegetables, fruit and pulses. Fish and seafood are also an important part of their diet. They are not keen on red meat, preferring chicken instead.
The authors have tried to decipher the Japanese code of longevity step by step. They found that it bears no connection to material comfort. The secret lies in their desire to embrace their ancestors’ unique life experience in sustaining a harmonious and healthy lifestyle; a remarkable amalgam of sun, physical activity, pleasant conversations, far-reaching social contacts and the unwaning desire to gain genuine, not fleeting pleasure from life.
Aimed at a wide circle of readers.
